Westminster Presbyterian Church is looking for a Youth and Young Adult Ministries Director who will coordinate all ministries geared toward youth from 6th grade through college age young adults. This Position is 10-15 hours per week and comes with a one-bedroom apartment.

Full Job Description
The Youth and Young Adult Ministries director will coordinate all ministries geared toward youth in 6th grade through post-college age young adults. In addition, you will coordinate with the Associate Pastor for Family Ministries all communications and activities that go beyond the scope of Youth and Young Adults.
Expectations:
•Willingness to work with kids with special needs or social concerns

Benefits: The Church will provide a cell phone, a laptop or iPad, and the use of the Church Apartment (1 Bedroom, full bath and kitchen).
Vacation: Vacation is equivalent to two weeks on an annual basis or as discussed with the Head of Staff.
Start Date: August 1, 2023
Travel/Expenses: Travel and Expenses are reimbursed according to the IRS guidelines and shall be pre-approved by the pastor in order to be reimbursed.
Evaluation: Meet annually with Personnel Committee to assess the year's program.
Accountability: The Youth Director is accountable to the Session through the Personnel Committee and Christian Education Committee and reports directly to the Head of Staff. This position also is expected to work with Associate Pastor for Family Ministries.

- Be at least 30 minutes early for all events or programs.
- Be present at worship services and available to the youth.
- Complete all trainings and certifications which personnel requires.

Administration:
- Ensure that key program dates are in place early enough for participant and their families (if applicable) to plan around them.
- Maintain regular communication with participants, parents, staff, and Pastor.
- Recruit volunteers and provide for their training.
- Establish positive rapport with teachers and support them with problem resolution
- Attend staff meetings
- Find volunteer leaders to assist in the youth program
- Empower young adults to develop faith groups
Activities:
- Minister to the youth by recognizing special days and developing a positive relationship with them. This may include going to sporting event, school plays, etc. The church will reimburse for the cost of the ticket as well as mileage to and from the event at the IRS rate.
- Create and maintain a weekly youth program. Traditionally this would be Sunday evenings during the school year and may vary over the summer months and holidays.
- Plan an activity outside the church at least once a month.
- Coordinate events with other church youth groups and with non-profits.
- Develop a Youth Leadership Council
- Participate in leadership of worship services as requested by the Pastor.
- Unless otherwise participating in the service, be available to youth during worship.
- Connect with all young adults who visit or regularly attend worship, creating spaces for fellowship and study
- Work with the Associate Pastor for Family Ministries to develop Children and Youth Programming.
- Order supplies as budget allows.
- Communicate and coordinate schedules with pastor and choir director to do at least 2 youth Sundays each year.
- Follow up regularly with visiting families and maintain a database of youth who visit.
- Other activities as assigned by the Pastor.
