The role of the Music Director is to provide a nurturing environment for musical growth and education of this congregation creating a cohesive program for the glory of God.

Report to the Pastor, as Head of Staff and is accountable to Session through the Personnel Committee.
EVALUATION:
Meet annually with a representative of the Personnel Committee to assess year’s program and job performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan choir music for Sunday morning services and up to six additional services (Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, and others to be determined by the head of staff or worship and music).
- Oversee Choir and rehearsals starting the last week of August through second Sunday of June.
- Arrange for Summer Singers (pick-up choir) and/or special music for summer Worship services (Starting the third Sunday of June through Labor Day).
- Resource, by leading or overseeing, other choirs (children’s, bells, etc.) as time allows.
- When needed or requested, recruit participants and schedule music for offertories.
- Arrange for special musicians for Christmas, Easter, other special services.
- Submit details of all choir music to the church office in time for inclusion in each Sunday worship bulletin. Also submit information for the weekly newsletters and other communications.
- Communicate with appropriate committees and act as an ex-officio member of the Music and Worship Committee.
- Purchase music in line with the approved Westminster budget.
- Ensure all church owned music is properly accounted for and filed.
- Oversee the instruments (organ, bells, sanctuary piano, choir room piano and others).
- Arrange for vacation replacement and absences.
- Meet with Pastor to plan music for upcoming services.
- Attend Scheduled Staff meetings.
- We estimate this to be 12-15 hours per week and should include rehearsal times, Sunday and special services, meetings, consultations, and communications.
- Keep abreast of developments and trends in church, choral, and contemporary music.
- Perform other related duties as requested.

- Minimum starting salary $17000 per year.
